Mark Your Calendars: November 2, 2018 (At Least I Am)

(Source: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm3849842/mediaviewer/rm1889999872) On November 2 nd next year, the Dark Phoenix/Jean Grey X-men movie comes out, yay!!! I LOVE X-men. I was surprised to find out that my nine-year-old self’s love for X-men was still there. I found that out when my boyfriend wanted to see X-men: Apocalypse for a date night. I am not picky for theater movies. Movie theater popcorn and either an Icee or a cherry-vanilla Coke? Count me in, in, in, in, in, in, IN! But I loved the movie, and I felt very nostalgic about my love for X-men from when I was younger. (Source: https://www.watchcartoononline.io/anime/x-men-evolution-english-dubbed) I used to watch X-men: Evolution on Cartoon Network, and that’s what got me to want my birthday cake that year to be X-men themed. (Source: My family photos) I wanted to be Jean Grey, and I looooved Scott Summers/Cyclops. I still love Jean Grey, but I have to admit I didn’t care for Scott Summers eye-candy-wise i

Wisdom Teeth

(Source: http://www.clipartpanda.com/clipart_images/download-64378743) Welcome to another week on my blog.(: Since I got the last of my wisdom teeth removed last week and am still recovering, I decided to write about them this week. I had my wisdom teeth removed in two total surgeries. The first surgery was July 2011 for my bottom two wisdom teeth, and the second surgery was last week for my top THREE wisdom teeth—yep, I’m weird all over. I was SO NERVOUS for both of my surgeries. I thought I was calmer the second time around, and maybe I was calmer but not as calm as I thought I was or had expected, ugh. It’s frustrating. I was first introduced to the idea of wisdom teeth extractions (at least as far as I can remember) by a TV show called Brace Face . The main character (who has braces, yes) is nervous to get her wisdom teeth out and finds out it isn’t as big a deal as she thought. My brain hooked on to the worry, and I probably had anxiety my whole life so that pro

The Struggles of Writing

Image
...Or something along the lines of that.. (Source: https://www.sbmania.net/forums/topic/50377-marty-im-scared-appreciation-thread/) I have an urge to write and publish to my blog because I want to have a blog and have yet to publish a post   (As of writing this post, I had not, but as of publishing this post, I have.) . However, I’m struggling because I have several documents created with topics and notes on what to write about the various topics. I’ve even wrote a lot for at least one, but I didn’t get to finish the draft in one sitting. Therefore, I feel overwhelmed at the idea of completing that post because I feel as if I’ll have to read the entire document to figure out where I left off and what notes I covered already and which I didn’t. Also, if reading that much overwhelms me, then, is it too long of a post? I heard from another blogger that posts shouldn’t be more than 300 words. Mine was 700+ unfinished. I know I would have had to go back and proofread and probably

Welcome to My Blog What Works for You

Image
Hi! My name is Michaela, and I’m the owner and author of this blog What Works for You . So far, I only have recipes posted on this blog. I did that so that I can store family recipes online on Pinterest so that if something were to happen that I’d lose the original copies or I’d lose what I typed on my laptop, I could go to my Pinterest profile and redownload them, or actually, I could download them from my blog. However, I liked having all the recipes I’ve tried and liked on a specific board on Pinterest. Anyway! I want to write a blog for two reasons: 1. A personal diary of sorts but more so 2. To make people feel less alone in the struggles that come with life. I chose my blog title as a reference to a quote by Amy Poehler. The quote is from her book Yes, Please , which was such a good read.( http://www.more.com/entertainment/fun/girl-power-quotes-funny-women/amy-poehler-1?crlt_pid=camp.sifGAKRfH3NA ) Not the exact quote but a pretty graphic to use as a reminder for you
